McNally Project Scientist Dr. Polly Ford-Jones has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 McNally Project for Paramedicine Research Most Significant Contribution Award.

This award acknowledges Dr. Ford-Jone’s sustained scholarly work and the significant contributions she has made to advancing research in the paramedic care of mental health crises. Her research and scholarly activities exemplify the innovation and scholarly rigour critical to building research capacity in paramedicine. This award acknowledges the specific contribution she has made through the NSERC and CIHR CCSIF-funded project “An Integrated Crisis Care Framework: A community-informed approach”, published both as an abstract in the International Journal of Integrated Care, and as a research report. This work also won the 2024 Ron Stewart EMS Research Award for Most Significant Research in EMS Conducted by a Paramedic at the Dalhousie University EMS Research Day.
One of the primary goals of the McNally Project is to cultivate a vibrant research culture within paramedicine, encouraging paramedics to engage in evidence-based practices and contribute to the academic growth of the profession. Dr. Ford-Jones is a leading example of this initiative in action. Her ability to secure competitive funding, pursue meaningful research, mentor the next generation of scholars, lead multidisciplinary teams, and communicate her findings with diverse audiences demonstrates the impact of building capacity from within the paramedic community.
Congratulations Dr. Ford-Jones on this well-deserved recognition! We are excited to celebrate your achievements and support your continued leadership in paramedic research.
