Please be advised that the CSA Z1660:2024 Draft Standard, National Competency Framework for Paramedics (formerly known as the NOSP), has been posted for the mandatory 60-day Public Review period in accordance with CSA policy. The draft is available for review and comment on the CSA Group Public Review Website as per the links below (English & French versions).

The closing period for Public Review is March 19, 2024

Scope of the CSA Z1660 Standard

The CSA Z1660 Standard identifies the professional activities and supporting competencies required of paramedics in Canada. It reflects current practice in Canada and anticipated future practice needs.  The Standard also provides guidance and supporting details to aid with understanding and using the Standard, including an overview of the role description, significance of the roles, information about practice settings, delegation, and inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility.
